Brockport Man Accused of DUI Crash in Hospital Parking Lot

DUBOIS – A traffic accident in a hospital parking lot has resulted in charges against a Brockport man.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office March 20, Raymond Francis Marche, 39, 635 Boggy Run Rd., Brockport, is charged by the DuBois City police with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, careless driving and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked-DUI related.

According to the affidavit, on Feb. 20, police were dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic accident in the parking lot of Penn Highlands DuBois.

Police spoke to the victim who said he was parked in his car in the parking lot of the hospital, when the vehicle was struck from behind by a silver Pontiac Sunfire.

Police then spoke to the driver of the Pontiac, later identified as Marche. Marche allegedly told police he was just moving the vehicle for his girlfriend. While speaking with Marche, police could smell alcohol and noticed that Marche’s speech was slow and delayed and he had slow physical coordination.

After failing field sobriety tests, Marche was given a breath-test which confirmed the presence of alcohol, but Marche refused to submit to blood-alcohol testing.
