Frederick Novak, 76, of Kirby, Texas and formerly of Osceola Mills died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas.
Born Sept. 30, 1938 in Osceola Mills, he was the son of the late Paul and Kathryn (Kochan) Novak.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Novak was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Army in 1982. He was a 1956 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Paul, Joseph, Michael and Stephen Novak and one brother-in-law, Joseph Vingless.
He is survived by two sisters, Anna Mae Croyle and her husband, Charles of Philipsburg and Mary Vingless of Morann; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, John and Kathy Mechtel.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills with the Rev. Father Scott Lill officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Annunciation Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Ramey.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday, April 6 and from 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 until the funeral. A vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 6 at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded by Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
