Linda Marie Witherite, 59, of Ansonville died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her residence after a lengthy illness.

Born Aug. 25, 1955 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of Marvin L. Sleigh Sr. and Shirley (Gutschall) Sleigh Hockenberry.

Mrs. Witherite was a seamstress and had worked for the former Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville. She also had worked for Clearfield Powdered Metals in the Quality Control Department.

She attended the Faith Bible Church in Lumber City. She was a former member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local No. 118.

Surviving are her mother and step-father, Thomas Hockenberry of Hawk Run; her husband, Roger G. Witherite, whom she wed in Ansonville on May 29, 2004; and two children, Montgomery “Monty” Grumblatt Jr. and his companion, Tina Cossar of Clearfield and Malinda Sloppy and her husband, Wade of Grampian.

Surviving are two step-children, Tiffany Witherite and her companion, Chad Williams at home and Dustin Witherite and his wife, Nicole of Carlisle.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren and a sister and two brothers, Deborah English and her husband, Ray of Morrisdale, Marvin Sleigh Jr. and his wife, Nila of Silverdale, Wash., and Franklin Sleigh and his partner, Joanne of Philipsburg.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother, David Sleigh.

Funeral services for Mrs. Witherite will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. Curwensville with the Rev. Scott Schultz officiating.

Burial will be in the Watts Cemetery, Redden Hill in Bells Landing.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
