According to Deb Wakefield, CIU No. 10 reading competition coordinator, 487 students participated from the tri-county region.  The reading list for the competition includes 40 titles and is distributed before the end of each school year.

This allows students to begin reading the books over the summer months, which encourages reading 12 months a year.  “The competition would not be possible without the cooperation from the hosting school, teachers, parents and volunteers,” according to Wakefield.

Next year’s event is scheduled for early spring at Keystone Central School District with a date to be determined.
