Obituary Notice: Leo M. Folmar

Leo Merritt Folmar, 67, of Clearfield and formerly of Curwensville, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born July 28, 1947 in Clearfield, he was the son of Thomas James and Eva Christie (Hallman) Folmar.

Mr. Folmar was a cook and retired from the Dutch Pantry in Clearfield. Prior to that, he had worked for the Holiday Inn and Best Western restaurants, both in Clearfield.

He was Christian by faith. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.

Surviving are a son, Gregory Folmar; a sister, June Rowles of Lock Haven; two nieces, Michelle Reeder and her husband, Fred of Lock Haven and Kim Peterson and her companion, Scott Benson of Clearfield; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Louise Folmar.

Memorial funeral services for Mr. Folmar will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating.  Burial will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, 103 N. Front St., Clearfield, PA  16830.
