State police at Clearfield
- An incident of theft/fraud occurred between March 18 and Monday in Ferguson Township. During the incident, the victim allegedly attempted to apply for a $5,000 loan online and provided six Money Grams, totaling $1,880.65 to a fraudulent account in California.
- An accident occurred March 21 on the Curwensville – Grampian Highway in Pike Township. Rebecca A. Shirey of Winburne was traveling west and negotiating a right-hand curve when her vehicle’s left, rear tire went flat. She subsequently lost control of her vehicle, which crossed the centerline and impacted the guiderail. Upon impact, her vehicle crossed back over the centerline and exited the roadway; it struck an embankment before coming to a rest. Shirey was wearing a seatbelt and uninjured in the accident; her passenger was properly restrained in a child safety seat and sustained minor injuries. The Shirey vehicle was towed from the scene, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of simple assault occurred March 20 on North High Street in Port Matilda Borough. During the incident, a 43-year-old Port Matilda man, Spencer L. Paraham, allegedly assaulted the victim and caused minor injuries. He was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and possession of a small amount of marijuana. Paraham was lodged in the Centre County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
- On March 10, two teens allegedly traded a pill at the Philipsburg – Osceola Senior High School.
- An incident of theft occurred March 18 on North Fourth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly used the victim’s check card to make an online purchase, totaling $287.16.
- An incident of simple assault occurred Monday on Lochlomond Road in Rush Township. During the incident, a 14-year-old female allegedly threw a hard object at the victim, striking her in the head and causing injury. Charges were filed through the juvenile court system, state police said.
Lawrence Township

DuBois City
- Police were dispatched to an alleged fight in progress Monday in the area of East Long Avenue and North Church Street. Upon arrival police learned a known male had allegedly engaged in an argument with occupants and the landlord outside of a Church Street address. The man was cited for disorderly conduct, police said.
- Police were alerted to alleged drug activity Monday on Parkway Drive. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police responded in reference to an alleged domestic assault victim Tuesday at the DuBois Penn Highlands Hospital. Upon arrival the alleged victim told police she and her live-in fiancé had engaged in an argument, which progressed to him pushing her. This, she said, caused her to lose balance, fall backwards and hit the back of her head and neck on a chair and fall to the floor. The alleged victim told police she was able to drive herself to the hospital; police noted she was transferred to UPMC Altoona for additional care and released later that day. The man was subsequently arrested on charges of simple assault and harassment, arraigned and released on bail.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident Tuesday in the area of Olive Avenue and Knarr Street. Upon arrival police determined there wasn’t any injuries and the accident was non-reportable. Police assisted with the exchange in information and directed both parties to their insurance companies.
- On Tuesday, an 18-year-old Brockway man alleged he was assaulted in the 100 block of North Brady Street. He told police he’d been inside a store when he was approached by a 21-year-old DuBois man. Without any warning or provocation, the man struck him in the face with a closed fist. When police questioned the man, he allegedly admitted to committing the assault; he will be cited for harassment.
Sandy Township
- On Monday, a 79-year-old DuBois woman reported receiving a threatening phone call from an unknown male. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Employees of the Blinker Sheetz reported receiving a counterfeit $100 on Tuesday. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
