Lara Logan of ’60 Minutes’ hospitalized again

“60 Minutes” correspondent Lara Logan has been hospitalized for the second time in a month, a spokesperson for the CBS News program confirmed Tuesday.

“We were sorry to hear that Lara was readmitted to the hospital yesterday and we wish her a speedy recovery,” the spokesperson told CNNMoney.

Logan was hospitalized on Monday, weeks after the correspondent was taken to a Washington, D.C. hospital for internal bleeding.

It was unclear whether Logan’s current hospitalization is the result of any lingering complications from a brutal sexual assault she endured in 2011 at the hands of a gang of men during the uprising in Egypt. After her rescue, Logan was flown back to the U.S. where she was hospitalized.

The “60 Minutes” spokesperson declined to elaborate on Logan’s current status.

Logan’s hospitalization on Monday came a day after “60 Minutes” ran her story on the Islamic State’s persecution of Iraqi Christians. At times during the report she was just a few miles from the front lines of ISIS.

Logan’s career was marred in 2013 by a discredited “60 Minutes” report on the attack against the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. She took a seven month leave of absence after the report was determined to have been flawed. She returned to CBS News in June 2014.
