Obituary Notice: Charles W. Knepp

Charles W. Knepp, 85, of Wallaceton died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

Mr. Knepp was born Feb. 13, 1930 in Wallaceton, the son of Ward A. and Jennie M. (Mayes) Knepp.

He was a 1947 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.

Mr. Knepp retired after 37 years of service with the Bell Telephone Company as a service technician.

He was affiliated with the Gethsemane United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Centre Hill Grange.

Mr. Knepp was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie I. (Millinder) Knepp, whom he married Jan. 2, 1954.

He is survived by his three children, Dennis C. Knepp and his wife, Sherry of Wallaceton, Karen L. Woods and her husband, Jack Jr. of West Decatur and Dorothy I. Andrews and her husband, Greg of Morrisdale.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Joshua Woods and his wife, Amanda, Lindsey Woods, Shelley Knepp, Brandy Knepp and Jordyn Andrews and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Knepp was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Alice Green, Wilma Hartsock, Alpha Williams, Nellie Pearce, Jessie Eason and Virginia Dixon and five brothers, Harry, Alfred, Marvin, Robert and Hollis Knepp.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with the Rev. Josh Maines officiating. Burial will be in Reidy Cemetery, Wallaceton.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post No. 6 and the VFW Post No. 1785 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. -8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the services at the funeral home.
