PennDOT, Safety Partners Discuss Dangers of Impairment at Local School

CLEARFIELDPennDOT, the Pennsylvania DUI Association and the Clearfield County DUI Strike Force recently taught Clearfield St. Francis School sixth, seventh and eighth students about the dangers of drug/alcohol impairment.

Students learned the dangers and risks of impairment, and riding with anyone who is under the influence. They were also able to sign a pledge in front of the Clearfield County Courthouse not to ride with anyone who might be.

To reinforce how impairment may affect vision, students had an opportunity to wear ‘drinking’ goggles while performing different activities. The goggles provided a hands-on example of how perception and functionality is reduced.
