Rapper Chris Bridges, commonly known as Ludacris, once called President George W. Bush irrelevant, “the worst of all 43 presidents” and “mentally handicapped,” but he seems to be cool with Bush’s brother Jeb.
Cool enough, at least, for a friendly photo op during the younger Bush’s visit to the Georgia statehouse Thursday.
Bush tweeted his compliments to Bridges along with a shot of the two in cozied up in the hallway.
“Never thought @Ludacris would be my opening act! His foundation does great work,” he tweeted.
The rapper was at the statehouse to be formally recognized for the work of his philanthropic organization, the Ludacris Foundation. Bush was there to speak to the state legislature about policies to improve conditions for children.
Before their chance meeting in the hallway, Bush joked during his address to the House that “I just came to see Ludacris.”
No word on what Bush’s favorite Luda song is (our money’s on “Rollout”), but it’s likely not “Politics As Usual,” Ludacris’ 2008 paean to then-candidate Barack Obama, in which he calls Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush irrelevant, knocks Bush as “mentally handicapped” and says John McCain doesn’t belong in “any chair unless he’s paralyzed,” all over a booming bass line.
