Virginia A. “Jinka” Hess, 72, of Osceola Mills died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Epworth Manor Personal Care in Tyrone.
Born Dec. 7, 1942 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Michael A. and Anna (Postiach) Pollick.
She married William E. “Mope” Hess in 1986 in Osceola Mills. He survives at home.
Mrs. Hess was a member of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills.
She was a retired beautician; after her retirement, she worked as a stained glass artist.
She was a 1960 graduate of the Philipsburg – Osceola High School. She also graduated from the Pruonto’s Hair Design Institute in Altoona.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Coulter and Jane Brennish and a brother, John “Jack” Pollick.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Hess is survived by a son, Gregory Kline and his wife, Leanna of Osceola Mills and two daughters, Carole Hite and her husband, Thomas and Greta Mills and her husband, Robert, both of Osceola Mills.
She is also survived by a brother, James Pollick and his wife, Evelyn of Osceola Mills and six grandchildren, Logan Kline, Gwyneth Kline, Cecelia Hite, Nolan Hite, Clint Mills and Alan Mills.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills with Archimandrite Jacob Piruta officiating.
Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills.
Panikhida will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
