Kenneth Eugene Thomas, 75, of Grampian died Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born July 11, 1939 in Curwensville, he was the son of Leslie J. and Myrtle M. (Mahlon) Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was retired as a self-employed auto body mechanic. Prior to that, he had been employed by the former Pifer Aircraft of Quehanna and Clearfield Machine.

He was a member of Faith Bible Church in Lumber City, where he was active in the Men’s Fellowship Group.

He was wed to Helen Louise Snyder, whom preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 2001.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David; an infant brother; and his step-daughters, Peggy Knepp and Diane Knepp.

He then wed the former Velma “Vicki” (Bilger) Hartfield on Feb. 14, 2002. She survives.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Miller and her husband, Glenn of Curwensville and Brenda McCahan and her husband, William of Olanta and two step-daughters, Paula Lambert of North Carolina and Debra Knepp of Florida.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ashley, Clayton and Breanna; four sisters and two brothers, Rosalie Yerian and her husband, Ralph of Ohio, Gloria Wiita of California, Beverly Bailor and her husband, Richard of Curwensville, Leslie Byron Thomas and Roger Thomas and his wife, Miriam, both of Rockton, and Arlene Paashaus and her husband, Richard of Coopersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Faith Bible Church in Lumber City with the Rev. Scott Schultz officiating and the Revs. Harold Harry and Robert Thomas co-officiating.

Burial will be in the Rockton Cemetery, Rockton.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
