Grace A. Monella, 87, of DuBois died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the DuBois Village.
Born June 3, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Connie (DeFazio) Montante.
On June 28, 1947, she married Samuel A. Monella. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2013.
Mrs. Monella worked at Rockwell International Manufacturing. She retired after 13 years.
She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and loved to watch cooking shows on television.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Lawson and her husband, Terry of DuBois; three grandchildren, Lee Ann Lovelace and her husband, Shawn of Greeley, Colo., Tara Deemer and her husband, Shawn of DuBois; and Erin Freer and her husband, Daniel of Cochranton; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel A. Monella Jr.; two brothers, Peter and Leonard Montante; and a sister, Tina DeFazio.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
