Donald P. Payeur Sr., 82, of DuBois died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Jan. 18, 1933 in Sanford, Maine, he was the son of the late Alfred and Alice (Lacroix) Payeur.
He was married to Theresa (English) Payeur. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1993. He is also survived by his long-time companion, Nancy Kline of DuBois.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War.
Mr. Payeur was a flight engineer for U.S. Steel Corp. with 50 years of service. He traveled extensively around the world and thoroughly enjoyed his career.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He also was a past member and president of the Treasure Lake Lions Club. He loved to golf and to play cards. He especially loved living in DuBois and spending time with his many friends.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Payeur of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Donald Payeur Jr. and his wife, Tina of Moon Township and two daughters, Catherine McGrew and her husband, Mike of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Patricia Payeur of Santa Rosa, Calif.
He is survived by three brothers, Albert Payeur of Winter Haven, Fla., Larry Payeur of Bangor, Maine and Raymond Payeur of Sanford, Maine; one sister, Jeanette Colleton of Holiday, Fla.; and two granddaughters.
Mr. Payeur was preceded in death by three brothers, Conrad, Clement and Robert Payeur.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Aliquippa.
