DUBOIS –A former employee is accused of stealing medication from a pharmacy.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office Feb. 27, Chalcie Jo Delaney, 27, 407 Chestnut Ave., DuBois, is charged by the Sandy Township police with two counts each of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
According to the affidavit, on Jan. 30, officers were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy for the alleged theft of a substantial amount of drugs by an employee. A regional loss prevention officer spoke to police and said he had interviewed Delaney, a former employee.
The officer told police he has a documented interview where Delaney allegedly admitted to removing 1,289 Carisoprodol pills, valued at $4,261.30 and 509 Tylenol with codeine pills valued at $144.73. During the documented interview, Delaney allegedly admitted that she had been removing the pills and consuming them without a valid prescription from May through January.
