Recreation & Tourism Authority and Cress-Wood Mutually Agree to Terminate Lease

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Recreation & Tourism Authority and Cress-Wood Company LLC have issued a joint statement regarding their lease agreement.

The CCRTA and Cress-Wood have mutually agreed to terminate the CCRTA’s lease with Cress-Wood at 212 Hammermill Rd., Clearfield.

The CCRTA and Cress-Wood have issued the following statement:

“While the CCRTA’s staff experienced some health issues and physical symptoms during its tenancy, extensive scientific and environmental testing was done by the CCRTA and Cress-Wood, and no conclusive evidence was found of any condition, on-site substance or chemical causing said complaints and or symptoms or which are otherwise known to be harmful or offensive to humans.

“The building was found to be clear of any mold or other environmental hazards for which testing were performed. In addition, no cause has been identified for any of the subjective medical complaints and or symptoms reported by the authority’s staff.

“Furthermore, in addition to the environmental and scientific testing performed after the subjective health issues of the authority’s staff were reported, Cress-Wood purchased and has been utilizing two portable IAQ Air Pro Air Cleaners to further filter the air within all interior areas of the building.

“As a result, from the testing performed the CO2 levels in the building remained low, with the temperature and relative humidity levels also being within industry standards.

“For the foregoing reasons, the Clearfield County Recreational & Tourism Authority and Cress-Wood Company LLC have determined it to be in their mutual best interest to resolve the lease upon terms acceptable to the parties.”
