One Killed in Rush Twp. Accident

RUSH TOWNSHIP – A 37-year-old Philipsburg woman, Melinda C. Patterson, was killed after her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer Saturday on state Route 350 near the Old Tyrone Pike in Rush Township, reported the state police at Philipsburg.

According to state police, Patterson was traveling northbound on SR 350. At the same time, William S. Albright, 55, of Osceola Mills was traveling southbound near the intersection with the Old Tyrone Pike.

For unknown reasons, state police said the Patterson vehicle crossed over into the southbound lane and impacted Albright’s tractor-trailer head-on. State police said that Patterson sustained fatal injuries; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Albright sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Both Patterson and Albright were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision, state police said.
