CNB Bank Promotes Shimmel to Assistant VP/Community Office Manager

CLEARFIELD – Joseph B. Bower, Jr., president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank, recently announced the promotion of Susan J. Shimmel to the position of assistant vice president/community office manager.

In this position, Shimmel’s primary responsibilities are to develop and maintain consumer loan and deposit relationships, as well as to manage overall daily operations of the bank’s Old Town Road office located at 1231 S. Second St., Clearfield.

Shimmel began her banking career at CNB Bank in 1970 as a receptionist. Throughout her career, she has held the positions of secretary, customer service officer and assistant cashier.

She has served as the community office manager at the bank’s Old Town Road office for the past 20 years.  Furthering her banking knowledge, she has earned several American Institute of Banking/Pennsylvania Bankers Association diplomas. She has also graduated from Central Atlantic Bank Operations School at Rutgers University in 1986.

“Over the past 44 years at CNB, Sue’s dedication has been instrumental in our growth and development,” said Bower.

“She has trained and mentored many employees throughout the years and continues to focus on and fulfill the financial needs of her customers.  We’re proud to offer the community and residents here such a valuable resource for their financial needs.”

A native of Clearfield, Shimmel is a 1970 graduate of Clearfield Area High School.  She volunteers her time and experience at Centre Grove United Methodist Church, where she is a member and serves as Sunday school teacher, communications coordinator, worship design team member and homework club mentor.  Shimmel is also the treasurer of United Methodist Women.

Shimmel resides in Clearfield with her husband, William. They have two daughters, Jolene Rosinsky (husband, Bill) and Carly Starkey (husband, John) and eight grandchildren.
