The Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner has announced the viewing and memorial service for firefighter Jeffrey Buck, 18, of Clearfield.
Buck was critically injured one week ago while fighting a house fire in the 700 block of Daisy Street in the East End area of Clearfield Borough. He died yesterday from his line-of-duty injuries. Buck served with the Lawrence Township Fire Company.
A viewing for Buck will be held from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 N. Third St., Clearfield. Due to limited parking, mourners should use private vehicles only.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School, 2831 Washington Ave., Clearfield.
Service attendees arriving by private vehicle should not arrive sooner than 2 p.m. the day of service.
Fire departments arriving with apparatus will stage at Target Square, 8878 Clearfield – Curwensville Hwy., Clearfield, no earlier than 12 p.m. the day of service.
Apparatus will leave from Target Square to proceed to the CAJSHS approximately 45 minutes before the start of service. Apparatus will be parked in the lot for services at the CAJSHS.
Burial will be at the Bradford Township Cemetery located off of Route 970. The graveside service is limited to family members only.
The funeral procession will depart from the CAJSHS at the conclusion of services onto Washington Avenue; proceed on Route 879 west to Route 322 east (Clearfield Mall) and turn left onto route 970 (Woodland Light/Gio’s) to Shawville. The family members will turn left into the cemetery at the top of the hill.
Apparatus will continue on Route 970 to Interstate 80 for the return trip to their station.
