Lakeside, CA (KSWB) — A parent was arrested Thursday several hours after officials locked down three East County public schools, a school administrators said.

Sarah Joy Lomaintewa, 26, was taken into custody at Ashwood and Mapleview streets around 3:50 p.m., according to San Diego Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were informed at 12:08 a.m. Thursday of a possible threat of violence related to a school in Lakeside. Investigators discovered Lomaintewa threatened to “shoot-up” a school in the Lakeside area, according to authorities.

As a precaution, several schools, including Lindo Park elementary, Tierra del Sol middle and El Capitan high schools, were locked down at 1 p.m. during the search for the suspect, investigators said.

Within 90 minutes, the lockdowns had been lifted at the middle and secondary schools, Lt. Robert Smith said. Students from Tierra del Sol and Lindo Park were bused to a nearby commercial parking lot for pickup by their parents.

Deputies from the Santee Station announced there is no further threat to public safety.

Lakeside Union School District superintendent Dr. David Lorden told FOX 5 that schools will be open on Friday.

Lomaintewa faces charges of terrorist threats and threatening a school.
