Outdoor & Sports Show Returns for 7th Year

CLEARFIELD – The Central PA Outdoor & Sports Show returns to the Clearfield County Fairgrounds March 20-22.

The event, which is in its seventh year, will bring a host of new exhibitors, products and displays.

Highlights will include fly-fishing demonstrations from Kinzua fly-fisherman, Steve Skvarka; fly-tying demonstrations by Phil Smeal; a reloading demonstration by AJ Marino; a trapping expert, Tom Bechdel; and waterfowl experts from Final Glide Pro Staff.

Also, new this year is a conceal carry seminar conducted by Mount Zion Personal Defense. Returning is Buckmaster’s Antler Scoring by Edson Waite.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their deer mounts to be scored and displayed on the Buckmaster’s Trophy wall throughout the show.

For the children, the Gold Prospectors’ “Pan for Gold” display returns along with PA Wildlife Habitat projects and the live fishing pond sponsored by CNB Bank.

The Susquehanna Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will hold a sanctioned turkey calling contest on March 22.

Contest divisions will be Senior Open, $30; Senior Friction, $25; Owl Hooting, $15; Hunter, $15; Youth (under 15 years), $10; and Poults (under 9 years), $10.

Attendees will find various displays of outfitters, hunting and fishing gear suppliers, fishing charters, resorts and hunting preserves, camper, RVs and more.

The Bear Creek Winter Soup Tour Food Truck will also be visiting the show this year and providing free soup samples to attendees Friday and Saturday.  Additional food vendors will be on hand to satisfy hungry attendees.

A “Hunting Trip for 2” to Texas valued at more than $8,000 will be raffled off at this year’s event. The Clearfield County Fair Queen & Committee will also be raffling off three guns and a Stealth Cam Scouting Camera.

Show hours are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.  and Sunday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Tickets are $5 per adult; children 10 and under are free.  Tickets can be purchased in advance via the official Web site.
