Fire Dept. Postpones Annual Banquet

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Fire Department has postponed its annual banquet.

The banquet, originally slated for March 14, will now be held April 18.

“[It’s out of] respect for firefighter Jeff Buck, who was critically injured at the structure fire on Daisy Street in the borough’s East End and his comrades who were traumatized by the incident,” said the department’s President Deborah Gray.

This year’s banquet coincides with the department’s 125th anniversary celebration,” said Gray. She said, “This is not a time to be celebrating. This is a time to focus on the Buck family and our fire department family.

“This is a time for prayer and reflection, consolation and healing. Our thoughts and energies must be focused on bringing Jeff home.”
