Two police officers in Ferguson, Missouri, resigned Thursday over racist emails discovered during the U.S. Department of Justice investigation of the police department, city spokesman Jeff Small said on Friday, citing the city attorney.
Small identified the officers as Rick Henke and William Mudd.
Also on Friday, Small said the city’s top court clerk, Mary Ann Twitty was fired earlier this week in the wake of the DOJ report release.
On Wednesday, the Justice Department released its report on the police department after an investigation prompted by the slaying last summer of black teenager Michael Brown by a white police officer.
