FRENCHVILLE – The Fork Ridge Ranch, located at 4757 Gillingham Rd., Frenchville, was swallowed up by a Sunday morning fire, according to Lawrence Township fire officials.

The Lawrence Township Fire Department responded as mutual aid to the Lecontes Mills Fire Department. While en route, all fire units encountered snow and icy roadway conditions, fire officials said.

Due to the delayed response, Lawrence Township’s engine arrived to the scene of a fully involved fire. It was initially difficult to establish a water supply, according to fire officials.

After overcoming water supply issues, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal arrived at the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire, said fire officials.

The Fork Ridge Ranch was a three-story, log lodge owned by Derek Walker. It was under the management of Tim Gallaher, according to the lodge’s Web site.
