Punxsutawney Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting DuBois Police

DUBOIS – A 31-year-old Punxsutawney man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted officers Tuesday inside a business in the first block of North Brady Street, reported the DuBois City police today.

According to the report, police were dispatched to a retail store for a man who was allegedly acting strange and lying on the floor. Upon arrival police found that the man had allegedly locked himself inside the bathroom and refused to come out.

Police subsequently forced open the door, at which point the man allegedly attacked officers. After struggling with him, officers were able to place him in cuffs.

One officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. The man was also transported to the hospital but will face charges, police said.
