Suicide attack in eastern Afghanistan kills 10 police officers, injures 8 others

Suicide bombers attacked police headquarters in Logar province in eastern Afghanistan, killing 10 police officers and injuring eight others, a government spokesman said Tuesday.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, group spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in an email.

One suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the entrance to the headquarters, allowing three others to enter the complex and also detonate their explosives, said Din Mohammad Darwish, a spokesman for the governor.

The attack took place in Pole Alam, the provincial capital.
