Morrisdale Man Arrested after DUI, Fleeing/Eluding Incident

RUSH TOWNSHIP – A 28-year-old Morrisdale man, Cody J. Stephenson, has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and fleeing and eluding, reported the state police at Philipsburg today.

According to state police, Stephenson was reported by another motorist for driving erratically from Interstate 99 to U.S. Route 322 westbound. State police got behind the suspect vehicle and it passed a tractor-trailer near Fairway Drive with an oncoming tractor-trailer very close.

State police immediately activated their lights and sirens to attempt to pull over the suspect vehicle. However, Stephenson allegedly sped up and fled westbound. State police said Stephenson voluntarily stopped at Vaux’s Dairy Freeze near the Cold Stream Dam.

Upon investigation state police determined that Stephenson had been drinking and he was arrested for DUI, fleeing and eluding and related charges. Stephenson was taken to the Centre County Jail, later arraigned and lodged in lieu of $10,000 bail.
