“Our dearly loved and cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jane Wilson Summers, 98, of Greenhills Village, State College and formerly of Philipsburg, passed quietly from this life into the arms of our Savior on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, in State College.”

Born Oct. 16, 1916 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Caroline (Krimmer) Wilson.  She married Elmer G. Summers on Aug. 22, 1942 in Altoona and who preceded her in death on June 26, 1977.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women.  She was also formerly a member of the N.O.P Club of Philipsburg.

Mrs. Summers had worked for many years at the Brown’s Boot Shop in Philipsburg. She was a 1935 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Luis and Robert Wilson.  She was the last of her generation.

Mrs. Summers is survived by two daughters, Joan C. Summers of State College and Deborah Shimmel and her husband, Roger of Philipsburg.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Michele Helffrich and her husband, Jeff and Scott Binkley and his wife, Tracy Michele, both of State College, David Patrick and his wife, Jean of Williamsport, Ashley Evilsizor and her husband, Steve of Bentonville, Ark., and Lindsay Shimmel and Justin Shimmel, both of Philipsburg, and five great-grandchildren, Mark and Ryan Patrick, both of Williamsport, and Kayla, Taylor and Kendall Binkley, all of State College.

Funeral services will be held at a future date.  Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg.

There will be no public visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 465, Philipsburg, PA 16866 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
