DUBOIS – The Penn State DuBois Office of Student Engagement invites all members of the community to celebrate Mardi Gras on campus while enjoying the sounds of authentic Cajun music.
Grand Bon Rien, a traditional Cajun band, is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 17, in the Hiller Auditorium at Penn State DuBois. The show is free and open to everyone.
Western Pennsylvania’s source for live traditional Cajun music, the band was formed in 1994 by five people dedicated to the music as it is played in the dance halls of southern Louisiana. Their driving, danceable beat on traditional two-steps and waltzes and their tight harmonies on songs sung in Cajun French bring fans from Ohio and West Virginia to participate in monthly dances.
