CLEARFIELD – Charges have been filed against three people after an alleged assault at a Coal Hill Road address, reported the Lawrence Township police today.
Upon investigation it was found a man, his wife and their daughter had allegedly engaged in a physical altercation. Two small children were also present during the incident, police said.
According to police, a 30-year-old female and her 60-year-old mother allegedly engaged in an argument, which turned physical. Both women sustained injuries during the struggle, police said.
Police said that during this struggle, the younger woman’s step-father allegedly grabbed her and began choking her.
All three were taken into custody and charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. They were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland.
All three were lodged in the Clearfield County Jail with their bail being set at $10,000. Their preliminary hearings have been scheduled for Feb. 18.
Police were assisted at the scene by Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and Clearfield County Children & Youth Services.
