Jeff Tech Students Compete in Skills Competitions

REYNOLDSVILLE – Jeff Tech competed in the District 7 Skills Competition on Jan. 23 and Jan. 30.  The competitions were held at Bedford CTC, Admiral Peary, CPI and YTI.

Students Seth Kerr, Stacey Uncles, Amber Greenawalt and Randy Nelen competed in welding, nursing, job interview and technical drafting.

Students who placed third in the competition included Dustee Wiggin for culinary; Meisha Cornman in customer service; Taylor Ponchel, Elizabeth Eyler, Alissa Smith and Cory Murray in Health Knowledge Bowl; Brandon Raybuck in restaurant service; Alex Zuccolotto in prepared speech; Dylan Brown in auto refinishing; Jasmine Smith for commercial banking; and Michael Blommen for precision machining.

Students earning second place titles included Rachael Fisher in cosmetology; Ben Sharp, Kayla Oakes and Chandler Beck for crime scene investigation; and Dylan Manns for criminal justice.

Students who had first place wins at the District 7 Skills Competition will be going to Hershey on April 8-10 to compete at the state level.

The first place winners who will be representing Jeff Tech at the state level competition will include Jordyn Glatt in esthetics with her model Melanie Keth; Austin Megofna in welding sculpture; Hannah Lander in architectural drafting; Andrew Witherow in technical computer applications; Ron Brink in firefighting; Justin Manns in criminal investigation; and Adam Walters, Aryn Beichner and Alexis Trude in crime scene investigation.

Officials at Jeff Tech would like to congratulate all of these students for their hard work and fine representation of the school.  Also, officials would like to wish all the students competing at the state level success so that they may also receive the opportunity to compete at the National Level.
