Free Education Program to be Offered about Chronic Health Condition

TYRONE – Tyrone Regional Health Network, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, is offering a free, educational program, “Living a Healthy Life – Self Management Workshop.”

The program, developed by Stanford University is a series of six educational classes designed to help people with chronic conditions improve their health and quality of life.

Attendees will learn how to live a healthy life despite having a chronic health condition. Topics addressed include diet and proper nutrition, reading food labels, exercise and symptom management.

Anyone with a chronic health condition, such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD,                           arthritis, high or low blood pressure, depression or any other chronic health  issue is welcome to attend.

Class instructors are Certified Master Trainers in Chronic Disease Management, Lannette Johnston, MS., BSN., RN., CHC., iRNPA, and Leigh Montecalvo, MSN, BSN., RN of Tyrone Regional Health  Network.

The series of classes will be held Wednesdays from 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Feb 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25  and April 1 in the classroom at Tyrone Regional Health Network at 187 Hospital Dr. in Tyrone.

The program is free and includes all course materials, books and CDs.
