Ronald F. Swope Jr., 76, of Curwensville and formerly of Luthersburg died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at the Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born May 27, 1938 in DuBois, he was the son of the late Ronald F. Swope Sr. and Mary (Galentine) Swope.
He was a 1958 graduate of Brady Township High School.
After more than 30 years of service, he retired from DuBrook Inc. of DuBois. He attended the St. Luke’s United Church of Christ. He enjoyed square dancing.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn Tyger and her husband, Larry of Bellefonte, Carl Swope of New Jersey and Brenda Swope of DuBois.
He is survived by five sisters, Annabelle Brubaker, Gwendolyn Turnbull and Eileen Swope, all of Luthersburg, and Mary Akins and Linda Kunselman, both of DuBois; four grandchildren, Janet Buchheit, Jessica Nellis, Nicole Tyger and Noah Kruise; and four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Conjetta Smith and Alexis and Brody Nellis.
He was preceded in death by three infant sisters.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home with Pastor Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Luthersburg.
