Andreas Man Accused of Homicide by Vehicle While DUI

UNION TOWNSHIP – Charges have been  filed against a 52-year-old Andreas man, Charles F. Oliver II, after an investigation into a July 2, 2014 fatal accident on Route 504 in Union Township, reported the state police at Philipsburg today.

A passenger, Karen Moore of Port Matilda, died from injuries sustained as a result of the accident. A warrant was obtained for Oliver from Magisterial District Judge Kelly Gillette-Walker, state police said.

Oliver has been charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI; homicide by vehicle; accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed; DUI; careless driving; reckless driving; classes of licenses; and protective equipment for motorcycle riders.

Oliver was taken into custody on the warrant at his residence on Tuesday by state police at Frackville; he was transported to the Centre County Prison. Oliver was arraigned Wednesday and incarcerated in lieu of $50,000 bail, state police said.

Oliver’s preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 18 in Centre County Court.
