EMPORIUM – The winter roadway conditions on the state forest are wonderful for snowmobilers. However, roadway conditions aren’t conducive for people interested in access by a licensed motorized vehicle, according to Jeanne Wambaugh, district forester.
“Winter has delivered us about eight inches of fresh snow on top of the 12-plus inches that we already had. So please think twice before attempting to travel the state forest roads at this time,” she said.
“If you do decide to venture onto state forest lands, take precautions, be prepared, remember cell phone coverage is very limited and enjoy winter’s beauty for spring is not far off – Punxsutawney Phil said only six more weeks of winter.”
