Grenier Pleads Guilty in Deceptive Business Practices Case

CLEARFIELD – A Reynoldsville man accused of not delivering tombstones to his clients pleaded guilty in Clearfield County Court.

Waite Found Guilty of Terroristic Threats

CLEARFIELD – Jurors deliberated for approximately an hour Monday before finding a Fallentimber woman guilty of threatening to stab a Coalport man in December of 2012.

Burfield Sentenced to Jail for Threatening Family Members

CLEARFIELD – A Houtzdale man who threatened to pour kerosene on family members and set them on fire was sentenced during plea and sentencing court in Clearfield County.

DuBois Council Hears about Property Donation to Habitat for Humanity

DUBOIS – On Monday, Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County representative, John Farr, spoke at the DuBois City Council meeting regarding the donation of a property at 122 E. Long Ave. offered by Wells Fargo Bank.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case of suspected cop killer Eric Frein.

Frein faces a dozen charges, including terrorism and first-degree murder, in connection with a September ambush outside the state police barracks in Blooming Grove, Pennsylvania.

CLEARFIELD – The case against a Philipsburg man charged with rape was discussed during Clearfield County’s motions court.

County to Request Transfer of Camp Wopsononock to DCNR

CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday, the Clearfield County Commissioners authorized Solicitor Kim Kesner to draft a letter to the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Forestry, to request the transfer of Camp Wopsononock to the DCNR.

CLEARFIELD – Joan Robinson-McMillen announced she will not seek re-election as a Clearfield County Commissioner at Tuesday’s meeting.

Hearing Continued for Former Kephart Trucking Co. President

CLEARFIELD – The preliminary hearing for the former Kephart Trucking Co. president, Timothy Lee Kephart, 55, of Morrisdale, who has been accused of stealing funds from employees, was continued one week by Magisterial District Judge Jerome Nevling during Centralized Court on Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail.

Judge Denies Motion for Bail Reduction in Aggravated Assault Case

CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man who threatened to stab himself and others was in court asking for his bail to be lowered.

William Charles Asuzu Jr., 30, 210 S. Fourth St., Clearfield, an inmate of the jail, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, two counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and three counts of harassment. He is housed in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

CLEARFIELD – Community stakeholders gathered for the Clearfield Revitalization Corp.’s (CRC) sixth annual town hall meeting last evening at the St. Charles Café in downtown Clearfield.

Eric Frein Pleads Not Guilty in State Trooper’s Death

Eric Frein accused of killing a state trooper and injuring another, on Thursday entered a not guilty plea by video from Pennsylvania’s Pike County Correctional Facility during his arraignment, according to his attorney.

PHILADELPHIA – Gov. Tom Wolf today signed an executive order reinstating a moratorium on new leases for oil and gas development in state parks and forests.

At an event in Benjamin Rush State Park, Wolf signed the executive order with members of the General Assembly in attendance.
