Robert I. Garthwaite, 89, of DuBois died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born March 12, 1925 in Jefferson County, he was the son of the late George E. and Mary (Berry) Garthwaite.
On Dec. 19, 1967, he married Shirley M. (Powers) Garthwaite. She preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 2008.
He worked at Rola Jensen in DuBois for many years. He was a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813.
He is survived by four sons, Robert I. Garthwaite Jr., Scott B. Garthwaite, Shawn B. Garthwaite and Christopher R. Garthwaite, three brothers, David, Samuel and Richard Garthwaite and one sister, Lois Atkins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, April Clark.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Beechwoods Cemetery.
