McCartney Seeks Democratic Nomination for Register of Wills in Centre Co.

Amanda McCartney of Howard announces her candidacy for Centre County Register of Wills. Mrs. McCartney currently serves as the First Deputy Prothonotary of Centre County.

She is a 2003 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. She is a 2005 graduate of South Hills School of Business and Technology receiving a Computerized Office Specialist/Business Administration degree.

“My experience is in public service,” McCartney said. “I work hard every day with the Prothonotary to provide the citizens of Centre County with efficient, friendly and competent service.”

Administrating a courteous, professional and skilled Register of Wills office will be Mrs. McCartney’s main priority should she be honored with the public’s trust.

“I knew at an early age I wanted to dedicate my life to serving others,” she said. “I pledge to work full-time and be accessible to the needs of the residents of Centre County.”

The Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphan’s Court provide the public with wills, marriage, guardianship and adoption services.

McCartney lives near Curtin Village with her husband, Tor. Her step-daughter Alyssa is currently attending the University of Pittsburgh. She enjoys cooking, Penn State football and spending time with her family.
