S. Edmund Lloyd, 82, of Houtzdale died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Born April 21, 1932, he was the son of the late R. Edmund and Helen Gallagher Lloyd.
Mr. Lloyd received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from the Penn State University. He retired as a school teacher from the Clearfield Area School District.
He was a member of the Philipsburg Elks Lodge No. 1173. He was also a member of the Houtzdale Presbyterian Church.
On July 3, 1961, he married Marcia Williams Lloyd. She preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 2011.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert W. Lloyd and a daughter, Karen Lloyd.
He’s survived by three daughters, Kristen Lloyd of Portland, Maine, Amy Lloyd of Brooklyn, NY and Allison Lloyd of State College and a son, Mark Lloyd of Watchung, NJ.
He’s survived by six grandchildren, Sage, Jade and Quinn, all of State College, and Landon, Julianna and Sebastian of Brooklyn, NY.
There will not be any public visitation. There will be a private memorial service at the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Orphans of the Storm, 223 Hill St., Curwensville, PA 16833 or to the Houtzdale Presbyterian Church.
