State police at Clearfield
- An incident of harassment occurred Friday on Main Street in Coalport Borough. During the incident, a 37-year-old Coalport man allegedly harassed the victim at the Minit Mart. The man had been previously advised to leave the victim alone, state police said. Charges were filed through the district court as a result of the incident.
- An incident of retail theft occurred Jan. 6 on First Street in Grampian Borough. During the incident, a 26-year-old Grampian man allegedly took candy from the Grampian One Stop without paying for it. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Sunday on Bloomington Avenue in Curwensville Borough. Further, a 42-year-old Olanta man traveled off of the east shoulder and impacted a section of guiderail and two roadway signs. After being stuck for a short time, he traveled for approximately one mile before parking his vehicle in a yard along North Street. When state police arrived at the scene, the man was allegedly found passed out behind the wheel with the keys in the ignition. Upon speaking with him, state police found he’d been consuming alcohol. He was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the state police at Clearfield for a legal breath sample, which showed a blood/alcohol content level of .21 percent. Charges of DUI and related offenses are currently pending against the man through the district court, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of DUI occurred Saturday at the Sheetz parking lot in Sandy Township. During the incident, a 30-year-old Huntingdon man was allegedly stopped for a traffic violation and found under the influence of alcohol. Charges will be filed against the man through the district court.
State police at Philipsburg
- An attempted burglary occurred Saturday on Hemlock Street in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly attempted to make entry into the victim’s residence. The victim was not at home at the time; however, state police were contacted by a security alarm company. Additionally, state police noted that there was damage to the rear door of the residence, but entry wasn’t made and nothing appeared to be missing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- The investigation is continuing into a burglary that occurred sometime between Oct. 1, 2014 and Dec. 30, 2014 at a D Street residence in Philipsburg. During the incident, someone allegedly removed $300 worth of meat from the victim’s freezer, as well as a bracelet valued at $4,000.
- An incident of burglary occurred Saturday on the Tyrone Pike in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, two actors allegedly entered Conklin’s Corner and removed an unknown amount of currency from two display cases. Afterward they fled the scene towards Philipsburg. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of theft of a motor vehicle occurred sometime Friday or Saturday at a Toby Road residence in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took the victim’s 2005 Skiddo snowmobile while it was parked near his residence. The snowmobile is valued at $2,500. Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alarm at a business on Industrial Park Road.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone who was experiencing psychological issues.
- Police received a report about an iPad that was allegedly missing from a Hyde residence.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the on-ramp of Route 879 at the Clearfield Mall exit.
- Police received a report about an alarm at the Timberland Credit Union. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about a psychological emergency on Popular Avenue.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident at the on-ramp of Route 879 at the Clearfield Mall. Two Clearfield residents were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the accident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident at the Hyde light. One person was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and the accident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged phone scam. Further, a resident received a call from an unknown person who claimed to be their grandson and who needed money to return to the country. Police would like to remind residents to confirm with family or police first before responding to such calls.
- Police received a noise complaint twice at the Economy Inn.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual.
- Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident on Plaza Drive.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident on South Second Street.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with an incident on Pleasant Lane.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle at a business on Race Street.
DuBois City
- On Friday, police received a report about a burglary in progress at a residence in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue. Upon arrival police found a known male who was wearing black clothes had allegedly attempted to gain entry to the victim’s residence. The victim, however, didn’t want to pursue charges against the male, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud on Friday in the 200 block of East Logan Avenue. Further, the victim told police that a male called her, stating she owed money for unpaid parking tickets from as far back as 13 years ago. The victim provided police with the phone number from which she received the call, and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Friday, police received a report from a victim who was allegedly harassed earlier in the Giant Eagle parking lot. The victim told police that his ex-girlfriend drove by and almost hit him. He also said that she yelled obscenities at him and followed him around for approximately an hour. The incident remains under investigation at this time with charges pending, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred Saturday at the intersection of North Church Street and East Scribner Avenue. The victim told police that she was stopped at the intersection when she heard a noise followed by the shattering of her driver’s side window. Upon investigation police believe the window was shot with a pellet gun. Police searched the area for suspicious activity with negative results. The incident remains under investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- While on patrol Saturday, police observed a blue Chevrolet Cruze traveling on North Brady Street. The operator allegedly swerved back and forth in its lane several times and almost impacted the curb. Upon investigation police found the operator was under the influence of alcohol and subsequently placed under arrest. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- On Saturday and Sunday, police were dispatched to alarm calls at businesses located on South Jared Street and West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK and that no further action was necessary.
- On Monday, police were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of West Washington Avenue, where a female was allegedly causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Upon arrival the female left without incident and the victim didn’t want to pursue any charges, police said.
Sandy Township
- Wal-Mart employees reported that a woman took an air rifle without paying for it on Jan. 13 and then attempted to return it for cash. The store would not allow her to return it because she did not have a receipt, police said. She then allegedly attempted to return it to the Clearfield Wal-Mart; however, she was again denied due to not having a receipt. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Friday, an employee of Tan Zone reported being harassed online by a 19-year-old DuBois woman for unknown reasons. Police handled the situation without incident.
- A 36-year-old DuBois woman reported that she attempted to get her vehicle from her former residence on Home Camp Road on Friday and her estranged husband threatened her with a baseball bat. Police went to the residence and assisted her in getting the vehicle without further issues.
- A DuBois man reported losing his wallet somewhere between Wal-Mart and the DuBois Mall on Saturday.
- Police investigated a 9-1-1 hang-up call at a Treasure Lake residence on Saturday. The call was accidental, police said.
- A 25-year-old DuBois man was pulled over for a traffic violation on Sunday, at which time police detected the odor of alcohol on him. After failing field sobriety testing, the man was transported to Penn Highlands without incident for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending, police said.
