DA: Arrest Warrant Issued for Sex Offender

CLEARFIELD – An arrest warrant has been issued for Chris Lorene Turner, 51, of Clearfield for failure to comply with state requirements for registration of convicted sex offenders, according to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.

Shaw: Arrest Warrant Served on Kephart Trucking President

CLEARFIELD – An arrest warrant has been served on a 55-year-old Morrisdale man, Timothy Lee Kephart, who has been charged with stealing funds from his employees, announced Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. today.

Moore Pleads Guilty to Stealing from Veteran’s Group

CLEARFIELD – A Karthaus woman accused of stealing from a local veteran’s group pleaded guilty in Clearfield County Court.

Melanie Louise Moore, 51, 67 Oak St., Karthaus pleaded guilty to a felony count of theft by unlawful taking and was sentenced to 30 days to two years in jail and five years consecutive probation.

DUBOIS – John Emerick concluded his service as the chief of the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department at Monday night’s DuBois City Council meeting.

Lesky Found Guilty of Causing $10K in Damages to Commercial Rental Property

CLEARFIELD – Jurors deliberated for approximately 30 minutes Tuesday night before finding a man guilty of causing nearly $10,000 worth of damage to a commercial property that he used to rent on West Long Avenue in DuBois.

House Funds Homeland Security, Counters President’s Unilateral Executive Orders on Immigration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5) has voted to support H.R. 240, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2015, which provides funding for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and includes provisions rolling back the President’s executive orders on immigration that are set to take effect in mid-2015.
