Elsie E. Stratton, 73, of Philipsburg died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 at the Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born Sept. 13, 1941 in Woodland, she was the daughter of the late Cecil E. Dixon Sr. and Rosanna (Juker) Dixon.
She married Edward L. “Ted” Stratton on Jan., 21 1974 in Winburne. She is also survived by her companion of 11 years, Joseph Bennett, who survives at home, and her baby of four years, Samantha.
Mrs. Stratton was Protestant by faith. She had worked with the original Presbyterian Home in Philipsburg and later with Windy Hill Village of Philipsburg for 41 years until retiring.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Galentine and two brothers, Cecil A. and Larry Dixon.
She is survived by two sisters, Thelma Korb and Mildred Korb, both of Meriden, Conn. and three brothers, William Dixon of Philipsburg, John Dixon of Reynoldsville and Bob Dixon of Woodland. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating. Burial will be at the Centre Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
