J.K. Rowling challenges Rupert Murdoch’s Muslim blame game

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is drawing widespread criticism for saying Muslims must be held responsible for last week’s terror attacks in France.

But one of his more famous detractors is getting just as much attention for challenging his logic.

The News Corp. CEO ignited controversy on Friday with a series of tweets about Islam and jihad. He started with the tweet, “Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible.”

He followed it up with, “Big jihadist danger looming everywhere from Philippines to Africa to Europe to US. Political correctness makes for denial and hypocrisy.”

Author J.K. Rowling took notice and decided to apply his logic to Christianity.

“I was born Christian. If that makes Rupert Murdoch my responsibility, I’ll auto-excommunicate,” she said on Twitter.

If the majority of Muslims are responsible for the actions of a few extremists, then the Spanish Inquisition must be her fault, along with Christian fundamentalist violence “and Jim Bakker,” she said.

Your move, Murdoch.
