Howard M. Bloom, 67, of Curwensville died Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at his home.

He was born April 3, 1947 in Clearfield, a son of the late Russell and Louise (Bickford) Bloom.

He was very dedicated to making a difference with his life. He was an overcomer and conquered many obstacles in life while always being willing to take on new challenges.

Mr. Bloom invested many hours with friends, children and grandchildren, telling stories and teaching life lessons. He was always willing to listen to anyone who needed help and provided sage advice when requested.

He shared his faith in Christ with many and had a strong desire for his friends and family to join him in heaven.

He is survived by two children, Tina Lines and her husband, Dr. Rick of Rockton and Steve Bloom of Curwensville and four grandchildren, Rachel, Rick and James Lines and Taylor Bloom.

He is also survived by two sisters, Phyllis Sylvis of Florida and Rhonda Beard and her husband, Rod of State College and three brothers, Dennis Bloom and his wife, Sharon of Curwensville, John Bloom and his wife, Debbie of Grampian and David Bloom and his wife, Connie of Clearfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Bloom.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to DaFEAT (DuBois Area Families for Effective Autism Treatment), 276 Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA 15801.
