State police at Clearfield
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Wednesday on Main Street in Ramey Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly slashed the tires and scratched the victim’s 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Damage is estimated at $1,900, state police said.
- An incident of burglary/theft occurred sometime between Dec. 18 and Thursday on Hardscrabble Road in Morris Township. During the incident, someone allegedly forcibly entered a residence and removed a flat screen television and a heater. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of burglary/criminal mischief occurred sometime Thursday or Friday on Green Road in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly gained entry to a barn and turned the water on, causing water loss. No damage has been reported at this time, state police said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An accident occurred Saturday on Main Street in Bigler Township. Further, a 17-year-old Houtzdale girl was traveling south and going down a hill when she lost control of her vehicle on the ice-covered roadway. Her vehicle traveled off of the west shoulder and impacted a section of guiderail. Upon impact her vehicle traveled approximately 129 feet before coming to a rest in the southbound lane. State police were assisted at the scene by the Madera Volunteer Fire Department, PennDOT and towing services. The girl will be cited for the accident.
- An accident occurred Saturday on Interstate 80 westbound at mile-marker 121 in Bradford Township. Mark A. Masaki of Poland, Ohio was traveling on I-80 when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a right-hand curve due to icy roadway conditions. His vehicle subsequently traveled off of the left berm and into the median, where it collided with an embankment. Masaki wasn’t injured and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident; his vehicle was towed from the scene.
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Saturday on Interstate 80 in Graham Township. Both Savannah A. Skinner of Clearfield and Alvin D. Yoder of Sunbury were traveling eastbound on I-80. Skinner was passing the Yoder vehicle when she lost control of her vehicle, which started to rotate clockwise and impacted the Yoder vehicle. Her vehicle continued to rotate and struck the guiderail along the left side of the roadway. No injuries were reported and occupants in both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts. Skinner was cited for the accident, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred on Schofield Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly used a newer, dark-blue Ford pick-up truck to spin ruts in the victim’s yard. - An accident occurred Saturday on the Tyrone Pike in Glen Hope Borough. Megan A. Atken of Blandburg was traveling southbound and negotiating a left-hand curve when she lost control of her vehicle due to icy roadway conditions. Her vehicle subsequently spun and struck a tree with its rear. Minor injuries were reported, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday on Cooper Avenue in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone allegedly caused damage to the victim’s wooden retaining wall by unknown means. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at 814-857-3800.
- An accident occurred Saturday on 53 Boulevard in Beccaria Township. Johnny L. McGary of Glasgow was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered roadway. His vehicle traveled off of the west shoulder for approximately 147 feet and impacted a business sign. After impact it came to a rest approximately 30 feet off of the roadway. McGary will be cited for the accident.
State police at DuBois
- An accident occurred Saturday on Route 322 west of Cameron Camp Road in Winslow Township. Kelly A. Scarnati of Reynoldsville was traveling west and negotiating a left-hand curve when she lost control of her vehicle. Her vehicle began to spin counterclockwise and then traveled off the roadway, striking an embankment with its rear and causing it to overturn and land on its tires.
- An accident occurred Saturday on the Chestnut Grove Highway in Bloom Township. Ashley M. Turner of Grampian lost control of her vehicle on the ice-covered roadway. Her vehicle traveled off of the right side and struck an embankment, which caused it to overturn. Turner sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident.
- On Saturday, state police stopped a 28-year-old Rossiter woman for multiple vehicle code violations on Route 310 in Winslow Township. Upon investigation the woman was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. She was subsequently placed under arrest for suspected DUI and also allegedly found in a possession of a controlled substance. Charges are currently pending laboratory analysis, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of DUI occurred Saturday in the area of East Presqueisle and North Front streets in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, state police stopped a 22-year-old DuBois man after he allegedly proceeded through a blinking red light without stopping as required. Upon investigation it was found that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody and transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for blood testing. DUI and related charges are currently pending blood test results, state police said.
- An incident of burglary occurred at a camp along Smay’s Run Road in Rush Township. During the incident, a 35-year-old Greenburg man allegedly entered the camp without permission. While at the camp, there was a fire started in the chimney/fireplace that caused severe damage. It was noted that the man contacted the victim to advise him of the incident.
- An accident occurred Thursday on North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. Both Michael U. Speed and Connie S. Kolesar, both of Philipsburg, were traveling north on the one-way street. Speed was in the right-hand lane and began to cross over into the left-hand lane to turn into the parking lot of Grattan’s Pharmacy. Speed, however, failed to observe the Kolesar vehicle, which was traveling in the left-hand lane, and pulled in front of it. Kolesar was unable to avoid hitting the Speed vehicle. Kolesar was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Speed will be cited for the accident.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of theft by deception occurred sometime between Nov. 27 and Wednesday on Hayes Road in Fox Township. During the incident, a female allegedly fell victim to an Internet scam and suffered a fiduciary loss in excess of $3,000.
- An incident of theft occurred Dec. 30 at a residence on Dill Hill Road Extension in Ridgway Township. During the incident, a 21-year-old Johnsonburg woman allegedly took pain pills that belonged to the victim. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
- An incident of cruelty to animals occurred Friday at a residence on Coal Hollow Road in Fox Township. During the incident, a 26-year-old Kersey man allegedly shot and killed a dog that belonged to the victim. Charges were filed against him through the district court, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a minor accident that occurred in the area of North Third and Bridge streets. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- Police returned property to an individual.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a female who was allegedly threatening to harm herself. Police located the female at a nearby convenience store.
- Police received information about a wanted person who was to be in the area.
- Police received a report about someone who was allegedly removing coal from a residence without permission. Police searched the area but made negative contact.
- Police received a report about a 16-year-old boy who was being unruly and threatening harm to himself on Daisy Street. Police spoke to the juvenile who advised that he wanted mental health treatment.
- Police received a report about a one-vehicle accident on Nichols Street. Further, the operator swerved to miss an animal, which caused their vehicle to slide sideways on the icy roadways and strike a tree. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the operator reported minor knee pain, police said.
- Police responded to the area of Williams and Clearfield streets, where a vehicle became stuck on the railroad tracks. A towing company assisted with removing the vehicle from the tracks, police said.
- Police received a noise complaint that occurred on East Locust Street. Upon arrival police heard loud music coming from an apartment. Police made contact with the occupant and advised them of the complaint.
- Police responded to an alarm on Power Avenue. Upon arrival police located delivery personnel at the scene who had accidentally activated the alarm.
- Police handled an alleged incident of harassment via communications.
- Police arrested a male after he was allegedly observed highly intoxicated along North Third Street.
- Police received a noise complaint that occurred along South Fifth Street.
Lawrence Township
- Police handled an alleged incident of harassment.
- Police received a report about an alarm at Rudd Equipment. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft that occurred at Rite Aid.
- Police handled a noise complaint that occurred on Lawrence Avenue.
- Curwensville Borough police were assisted with a report about suspicious activity.
- Police received a report about a horse that was loose on Maines Lane. The Clearfield County SPCA was notified about the incident, police said.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Route 322. No injuries were reported, police said.
- Police received a report about civil issues involving a landlord/tenant. The caller was referred to the magistrate’s office, police said.
- Police received a report about an alarm at Rudd Equipment. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival to the scene.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident along the Clearfield – Glen Richey Highway. No injuries were reported and towing was required, police said.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident along Turnpike Avenue. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was driven from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a tan-colored Corso Mastiff that’s missing from a residence along the Old Erie Pike.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity in the area of Nelson Road. Upon arrival police found it to be objects that were being blown in the wind.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a local business.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the Carrs Hill area.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a suspicious female who was inside a business Friday in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon investigation police allegedly found the female was in possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. It was also found that the female had allegedly forged a prescription in an attempt to get narcotics. The female was taken into custody and charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- On Saturday, police observed the operator of a red Nissan run a red light at the intersection of West DuBois Avenue and DuBois Street. Police subsequently pulled the vehicle over and allegedly found the operator under the influence of alcohol. The operator was arrested for DUI and other traffic violations, police said.
- Police received a report about two males who were allegedly engaged in a fight Saturday in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police found both males had left the scene. Police were able to make contact with one male who advised the other had yelled racial slurs at him, which resulted in a mutual fight. No injuries were reported as a result of the fight; neither male wanted to pursue charges, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred Saturday at a Hoover Avenue business. Upon arrival the victim told police that a female had attempted to steal three packages of hamburger and two packages of frozen meatballs. Charges were filed against the female, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute Saturday at a North Jared Street residence. Upon arrival police made contact with a male who was allegedly highly intoxicated outside and yelling at them. When police made contact with the female, she said the male became angry when she asked him to keep the noise down as she was putting their child to bed. She told police that there wasn’t any physical contact during their dispute. The male was arrested for public drunkenness and lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.
- On Sunday, police observed the operator of a vehicle fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of West Long Avenue and Main Street. Police pulled the vehicle over on South State Street and found the female had allegedly been drinking. The female was arrested for the incident, police said.
- While on patrol Sunday, police observed two males arguing in a parking lot in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Police made contact with the males and were able to separate them without incident.
- Police received a report about a panic alarm Sunday at a business in the 100 block of North Brady Street. Upon arrival police found an employee had accidentally activated the alarm.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about a resident hearing multiple gun shots Friday in the area of Quarry and West Long avenues. Police searched the area and could not find the perpetrators.
- A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old DuBois boy failed to stop in time to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Reynoldsville woman that was stopped at a red light Friday on Bee Line Highway. No injuries and minor damage were reported, police said.
- A 39-year-old Treasure Lake man lost control of his vehicle while traveling Saturday on Bay Road, causing it to travel off the roadway and strike a tree. The man told police he remembered leaving the Ski Lodge but did not remember the accident. He was transported to Penn Highlands for treatment of injuries he sustained in the accident. While there he agreed to have blood drawn to perform a blood alcohol test. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- Police pulled over a suspicious vehicle Saturday on Game Lands Road. Upon investigation police allegedly found several items that were believed to be illegal substances and paraphernalia. The five occupants of the vehicle were detained, interviewed and later released. Charges are currently pending against all of the occupants, police said.
- A 38-year-old Kane woman reported that her husband’s vehicle was hit and damaged while parked Saturday in the DuBois Mall parking lot.
- On Saturday, a vehicle driven by a 59-year-old Hammonton, NJ man hit a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Falls Creek man while in the McDonalds drive thru, causing minor damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported, police said.
- On Saturday, a 43-year-old Treasure Lake man reported that a full-sized Bronco hit his vehicle in the DuBois Mall parking lot and then left the scene.
- A vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Black Lick man drove off of Sykes Street Extension into a wooded area on Sunday. The driver stated he had just purchased the vehicle and it shut off while he was driving. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- On Sunday, a 34-year-old Mocking Bird Lane woman reported that while she was attempting to get her belongings from her house, her 34-year-old estranged boyfriend was following her and harassing her. Police arrived on scene and handled the situation without incident.
- On Sunday, a 27-year-old Clearfield woman was leaving a residence on Mountain Run Road when she lost traction and her vehicle slid into a box trailer that was parked in the yard. Damage was reported to the trailer and truck. No injuries were reported as a result, police said.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Sarvey’s on Sunday.
