CLEARFIELD – The New Year makes people think about what they would like to accomplish over the next 12 months.
For example, people want to lose a few holiday pounds or to climb Mount Everest. Some New Year’s resolutions are fun, some impractical and others require some thought and planning to fulfill.
The Clearfield YMCA would like to suggest putting the following ideas on your list:
- Freeze Your Gizzard 5K or Chick’n Chuck’n on Jan. 24 or the Polar Bear Swim, “Almost” Naked Mile or Kids Snow Box Derby on Jan. 25 at the Winterfest.
- Learning to swim, to play racquetball or losing your fear of heights on the climbing wall. Or, maybe you would rather learn to ballroom dance, get a body massage or try yoga.
If getting into shape is on your list, you can try various group exercise classes for all ages and fitness levels at the YMCA. Maybe, you can try strength or cardio training if it is more suited to your liking, as the YMCA Fitness Center has the equipment you need.
Have you always wanted to play on a volleyball team or basketball team? You can also talk to children about joining a swim or competitive cheerleading team or doing a youth triathlon.
The Clearfield YMCA offers all of these activities and more every year. To find out more information about these activities, visit the Clearfield YMCA Web site at www.clearfieldymca.net or call 814-765-5521.
