CLEARFIELD – Staff members at Visit Clearfield County (VCC) have announced the weekly events for Jan. 2-8.

Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

Monday-Sunday

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835.  Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).

The Ritz Theater will show a free movie, E.T.: The Extraterrestrial, at 2 p.m. Sunday. The “Save the Ritz” committee will be on-hand to accept donations towards the purchase of a digital projector.

Friday Night Live

Master Exploder

Friday, Jan 2.

Musical guest “Master Exploder,” a Tenacious D tribute band, will perform Jan. 2 at Friday Night Live at the annex of the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre in downtown Clearfield. Admission is $3 per person and seating is limited. Event organizers suggest arriving early for Friday Night Live! Friday Night Live! will get under way at 7 p.m.

Holiday Dive-In Movie

Friday, Jan. 2

You can end the holiday season with the Clearfield YMCA at a holiday dive-In movie on Friday, Jan. 2 at 6 p.m. There will be complimentary pizza and drinks with admission; snacks will be available for an additional $1. Also, bring your favorite pool toy to lounge while watching the movie.

Replenish

Mahaffey Camp

Friday, Jan. 2 – Saturday, Jan. 3

You can experience the Mahaffey Camp in the winter.  The Replenish retreat is offered at a low cost in order to be more easily accessible for teens and youth groups. Events will include worship, speakers and seminars, hot chocolate, sled-riding, basketball and other sports, crafts, snow games and more.

Winter Adventures

Trail Blazer Adventures

Sunday, Jan. 4

Trail Blazer Adventures has announced 2015 Winter Adventures, including XC ski and snowshoe, weather conditions permitting, starting on Sunday, Jan. 4 and closing on March 15.

Trail Blazer Adventures will meet at Aletta’s Farm Market (located on the Curwensville/Grampian Highway) every Sunday at 2 p.m. to snowshoe/XC-ski the Clearfield/Grampian Rail-Trail or Bilger’s Rocks Trails.

After trail-blazing at your own pace, everyone will meet at the Place of Rocks Roadhouse for refreshments.

Full Moon Walk, Parker Dam

Sunday, Jan. 4

Meet at 6 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom

There is a full moon tonight, come get a really good look at it (if the weather cooperates) and walk along in its glow. You will learn a little about the moon and the stories that have been being told about it for ages. It will be an even more memorable experience should there be snow on the ground as well. If the sky is clear, there is no need for lights, so please don’t bring them along. Parker Dam State Park is located at 28 Fairview Rd., Penfield. Call 814-765-0630 for more information.
