State police at Clearfield
- An incident of criminal trespass occurred Tuesday and Wednesday on Cooper Avenue in Cooper Township. During the incident, a 27-year-old Clearfield woman allegedly arrived at and continually knocked and peered through doors and windows of a residence. The victim posted and signed a no trespassing sign on the premises, which the woman ignored by continuing her actions. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of theft by deception occurred sometime between Dec. 26 and Dec. 28 on Parrish Road in Huston Township. The victim received a telephone call from an alleged Worldwide Pet Transport representative who persuaded them to activate four Reload It MoneyPak cards, which totaled $1,500, under the ruse they’d be for a legitimate pet transport service. Once the victim disclosed the cards’ authorization codes, their funds were immediately cashed and the call was terminated. State police said the incident remains under investigation at this time and would like to urge the general public to be cautious about conducting transactions with unknown persons or businesses. Also, state police stressed the difficulty in investigating these types of transactions, as MoneyPaks are similar to sending cash and not traceable.
- An incident of theft by deception occurred sometime between Dec. 1 and Dec. 22 on Richardsville Road in Warsaw Township. Further, the victim was allegedly contacted by phone and advised he’d won a new car and $5.5 million. He was asked to send in fees on different occasions to which he obliged; to date the victim has sent in more than $1,500 and has neither received his cash prize nor car. State police noted that the incident remains under investigation at this time and residents are urged to monitor their elderly family members and not to respond to these requested transactions, which are scams.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Dec. 26 and Monday on Dogwood Drive in Rush Township. Further, the victim found dents on the driver’s side door of her vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of theft by deception occurred Aug. 24 at the Corner Market in Fox Township. During the incident, a 51-year-old St. Marys man allegedly had a check returned to the store because it was for a closed account. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
- An incident of harassment occurred Tuesday on Toby Road in Fox Township. During the incident, a 16-year-old Kersey boy allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical with two victims. Charges are to be filed through the district court, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a complaint about a vehicle parked in a “No Parking Anytime” zone. As a result, police ticketed the owner of the vehicle. Police later received a call from the vehicle owner who complained that he’d received a parking ticket.
- Police received a complaint about an incident of scattering rubbish on River Road. Further, a 41-year-old Clearfield man dropped a bag that contained his personal information on the property of the complainant. The man was given a verbal warning for littering, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance on East Cherry Street. Further, a 44-year-old Munson man had allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with a 45-year-old Clearfield woman. The man left the scene prior to police arrival. Charges of disorderly conduct will be filed at the district magistrate’s office, police said.
- Police investigated a two-vehicle accident on East Market Street. Further, a 54-year-old Clearfield woman backed into a vehicle owned by a local business. The woman did not have insurance on her vehicle. Several traffic citations will be filed at the district magistrate’s office, police said.
- Police will conduct DUI patrols, DUI checkpoints and aggressive driving and seatbelt compliance patrols over the New Year’s holiday. Police would like to ask all drivers to be considerate to other drivers on the roadway and to drive responsibly. Police want everyone to have a safe and happy holiday.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alarm on Appalachian Drive.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft that occurred on Leonard Street.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of services that occurred on the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident in the area of River Road and Fulton Street. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault that occurred on Poplar Avenue.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of a tree stand and game camera that occurred in the area of Evans Road. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a South Second Street business. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged retail theft at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about alleged counterfeit money at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a possible overdose in the area of East 14th
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual at the Edgewood Apartments.
- Police received a report about 9-1-1 hang-up calls from the Lawrence Park Village Apartments.
- Curwensville Borough police were assisted with an injured deer.
- Police received a report about alleged trespassing in the area of Coal Hill Road.
- Police received a noise complaint that occurred on Woodland Road. Both parties were advised to keep the noise down, police said.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about a suspicious person who was allegedly prowling Tuesday morning in the area of Irvin Hill. Further, a person was allegedly observed checking the door of an East View Drive residence, which was secured at the time. A witness wasn’t able to determine where the person fled to, police said. Police would like to remind residents to keep their homes and vehicles locked for their own safety and to deter theft.
- Police would like to remind motorists that parking is prohibited from 3 a.m. – 6 a.m. on State and Filbert streets. Also, police would like to inform residents that parking is not permitted on Hill Street.
- Lawrence Township police assisted with an injured deer Tuesday on Schofield Street.
- Police found a shopping cart Tuesday on George Street. It was returned to a local business.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about an attempted break-in at a residence in the 400 block of South State Street. The victim told police that sometime overnight someone pulled out lights from his yard and damaged his screen door. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alarm Monday at First Commonwealth Bank on Shaffer Road. Upon arrival police found out that it was a false alarm.
- While on routine patrol Monday, police observed a green Nissan Maxima traveling at 42 miles per hour in a posted 25 miles per hour zone on West DuBois Avenue. While following the vehicle, police also observed it cross the centerline several times within a short distance. Police subsequently pulled the vehicle over on Liberty Boulevard and determined the operator was under the influence of alcohol. The operator was arrested for DUI and charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alarm Tuesday at a business in the 600 block of DuBois Street. Upon arrival police found an employee had accidentally activated the alarm.
- Police received a report about an alarm Tuesday at a business in the 200 block of South Jared Street. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred Tuesday at a Valley Avenue residence. The victim told police that someone threw multiple single packet sauces and eggs at their residence. Police have a suspect and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
