Floyd W. Burton, 66, of Osceola Mills died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 at his home.
Born Jan. 27, 1948 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late William R. Burton Sr. and Bertha (Burton) Burton. He married Mary E. (Olosky) Burton on Sept. 30, 1978 in Houtzdale; she survives at home.
Mr. Burton was of the Christian faith. He was a very active member of the Columbia Fire Co., in which he held numerous offices.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Jill Mining Co. of Philipsburg. He attended Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Sabra Joyner, Margaret Hummel, Ruth Way and Audrey Way and one brother, William Burton Jr.
Along with his wife, Mr. Burton is survived by a daughter, Miranda K. Burton of Osceola Mills; a brother, Irvin Burton of Ramey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Burton’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
