Task Force Seeks Community Feedback on Gen Ed Curriculum Prototypes

UNIVERSITY PARK — The Gen Ed Task Force tasked with revising Penn State’s general education program has posted two curriculum prototypes online for feedback from the University community.

The task force was charged in spring 2013 by the Faculty Senate and Executive Vice President and Provost Nick Jones with updating the general education program.

Over the past year, task force members met with students, faculty and staff in town hall and focus group meetings, collected information on the current program and received ideas on how to improve the general education program.

Three curriculum prototypes were developed as a result of early feedback. Additional feedback from the University community allowed the task force to narrow down the number of prototypes and revise the proposed curricula.

Penn State community members may access the prototype curricula and provide comment and feedback at http://gened.psu.edu/.
